In the Shadow of the Atom - 2020 to Present

This project visually explores life around Britain's nuclear sites, beginning with Sellafield in Cumbria, using new and found images to tell the story of Britain's modern nuclear industry and daily life in its shadow.

The first chapter focuses on Seascale, a village three miles from Sellafield, Britain's largest and most radioactive nuclear site. No longer used for energy or weapons production, Sellafield now handles most of the nation's nuclear waste, and remains central to the local economy, as it has for generations of Cumbrian coast residents.
